Chelan, Washington is home to the world’s best stationary surf wave. Lakeside Surf hosts several fun events throughout the year, one of them being the Continental Surf Cup. This is a two-day battle between Team USA and Team Europe for river wave bragging rights. Each team competed in a variety of events that led to 1 team being the declared champion. Over Labor Day weekend, they hosted the 3rd Annual Continental Surf Cup. There were traditional podium finishes, prize money, fans cheering from the stands, and BeGOAT beverages were keeping everyone hydrated through the heat of the day.

How was the event overall?
The 3rd Annual Continental Surf Cup was such an enjoyable event! The weather could not have been better, and the overall event was very well-organized making it a memorable experience. Competitors and spectators traveled from all over the world making it a great opportunity to meet new people. The Lakeside Surf venue has food vendors, and the fish tacos are to die for! You will not want to miss out on this food cart the next time you’re there.
Citywave is becoming more and more popular. Some waves are made in a natural river, including the Bend River Wave or Boise River Wave. Lakeside Surf is unique with its recirculating water in a large pool. It can create a wave up to 6 feet tall and 54 feet wide. It is much bigger than any man-made river wave and provides a controlled surf experience for any beginner or expert surfer.
How many competitors were there?
There were around 40 competitors with an event split between males and females. There were about 20 competitors representing Team USA and 20 representing Team Europe. The number of competitors brought high energy and countless spectators!
Who ended up taking the podium? Team USA or Team Europe?
This event is all about community, togetherness, and building ever-lasting relationships. Although Team Europe was the overall winner, surfers from each team bonded throughout the competition making it a memorable experience for everyone.
What was everyone’s favorite BeGOAT flavor?
